How to create a Windows like Logo in 3D Studio Max 2010

In this tutorial I will teach you how to create a windows like logo.. like in the image below:

1. Start by creating an arc(Create -> Shapes -> Arc). Then go in Top view, click once, drag to right and then pull it with the mouse upwards to make it curve a little bit only.

2. Duplicate the arc by first, selecting it, and then dragging it up while holding shift key. A second clone of first arc should appear.
3. Right click any arc and convert it to an editable spline.
 4. Next, go to Modify tab and select Vertex mode. After that click the Attach button, then select the other arc.
5.  And than click Connect button.
6. Click the end of any arc and drag it to the opposite end. Do the same for the other end to make the two arcs join at their ends by two lines.
 7.  Unselect vertex button and click the creted shape. Select Extrude in the Modify tab and raise the amount of extrusion to the amount you desire. You should make the height at least equal to the width. I choose an amount of 90.00 cm.

8. Now duplicate this shape the same way we did earlyer for the arc. Now you drag to the right, so you have two identical shapes next to each other.
9. Rotate the 180 degrees so that it looks like image below and select the move tool to align the two pieces.
10. Finally duplicate the two shapes and drag them to below so that you have the windows flag shape.

The ending look is created by applying a material for every square to match the colours of the real logo.My model looked this way by rendering it in v-ray.
 Pretty nice, right?

Hope you enjoy my first tutorial! Stay tuned.. will be more tomorrow!
